What Does God Want From Me?

Initial Scripture Reading:

Hebrews 2:9,10

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. 10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

II Corinthians 6:16~18 [My sons and daughters]

16  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

18  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

John 15:10,11 [Keep my commandments]

10  If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commamdments, and abide in his love.

11  These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

Matthew 22:36~38 [Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart]

36  Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38  This is the first and great commandment.

Story Here

Picture a disobedient daughter whom you have made to apologize to a smaller brother because she treated him badly. She goes to the brother with a facial expression which clearly indicates she is only apologizing because she is forced to do so. Her heart is not in it. Is this acceptable? Is this same attitude, one which God will accept when we approach him? Surely, it cannot please the creator of the universe.

This Is The Nugget!!!

When God created man, he gave him a self will, in which it is permissible for the man to reject God's commands, if he chooses to do so. When we, by our own choice, keep God's commands and freely give our love and adoration to him, we are acceptable and pleasing to him. It is this fellowship, which warms the heart of God, and is the reason for man’s creation. All of God’s recorded works are for the express purpose, of bringing men and wemen[who from the heart, are obedient to his commands] into his family circle as beloved sons and daughters [redeemed from the curse of death, which resulted from Adam and Eve's disobedience to God in the garden of Eden].
